Ingredients in This Creamy Vegan Tofu Chocolate Pie
Each ingredient plays an important role in the flavor, texture, and nutrition of this dairy free chocolate pie. You’ll need just five ingredients to make the filling.
- Firm tofu – Acts as the creamy base of the filling, providing structure, protein, calcium, and a neutral canvas for the chocolate.
- Lily’s Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate Baking Chips – Dairy free, gluten free and vegan, these delicious dark chocolate chips add rich chocolate flavor while keeping added sugar lower than traditional chocolate chips.
- Vanilla extract – Enhances the chocolate flavor and adds warmth and depth to the chocolate tofu filling.
- Zero-calorie granulated monk fruit sweetener – Monk fruit sweetener balances the bitterness of dark chocolate without adding sugar.
- Unsweetened Kirkland almond milk – Helps thin the mixture to a silky consistency while keeping it a dairy free recipe.
The Almond Flour Pie Crust
You’ll also need one fully baked pie crust. Choose from a vegan almond flour pie crust, a buttery almond flour crust, or a keto chocolate pie crust for a double-chocolate pie – or feel free to use any pie crust you like.
Optional Ingredients and Variations in Vegan Chocolate Pie
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Tofu Pie – Add ¼ to ⅓ cup creamy peanut butter to the blender with the tofu and melted chocolate. Peanut butter pairs exceptionally well with chocolate and adds extra richness. If using peanut butter, increase the amount of almond milk and adjust the sweetener to taste.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl – Pour the chocolate filling into the crust, then swirl in a few tablespoons of warm peanut butter before chilling.
- Extra Dark Chocolate – The filling is delicious as written, but you can also blend in 1 teaspoon of instant espresso powder for a deeper chocolate flavor. Alternatively, add ½ teaspoon of chocolate extract to further enhance the chocolate notes.
- Mint Chocolate – Add ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract for a refreshing twist.

How to Make Vegan Tofu Chocolate Pie
1. Bake the Almond Flour Pie Crust

Fully bake one vegan almond flour pie crust, one almond flour pie crust with butter, or one sugar free chocolate pie crust, and let it cool completely.

2. Drain and Press the Tofu
Remove the tofu from its package and drain off the liquid.
Place the tofu between two dinner plates and gently press.
Tilt the plates and drain the liquid into the sink.
Let the tofu rest between the plates for 15 minutes, then gently squeeze and drain again. This step is essential for a thick, creamy filling.
3. Melt the Chocolate to Make This Vegan Tofu Chocolate Pie
Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them in short intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
4. Blend the Filling
Add the drained tofu, melted chocolate chips, and vanilla extract to a blender or food processor.
Blend until smooth; the mixture may become quite thick at this stage.
5. Adjust Texture and Sweetness
Add the granulated monk fruit sweetener and unsweetened almond milk.
Blend again, scraping down the sides as needed, until fully combined.
Check the sweetness and texture. It should be silky and creamy, similar to chocolate pudding, and not too thick.

6. No Bake: Chill and Set Your Vegan Tofu Chocolate Pie
Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled, baked pie shell.
Refrigerate overnight to allow the chocolate tofu filling to fully set before slicing and serving your vegan chocolate pie.
